This sounds too good to be true. What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. We don’t even collect your credit card so there is no way for us to charge you. We only get paid when you get paid by credit card.

Do I have to use credit cards?

Pool-E doesn’t require credit card usage; it offers flexibility in payment methods. If you opt for Credit Card Integration, it streamlines customer onboarding, Quick Quotes, fast payments, and Work Order Approvals for your convenience. Pool-E adapts to your payment preferences.

How are the fees paid by the customer?

You can decide how much of the fees you want the customer to pay. When a customer’s card is charged, Pool-E will add the service fee to the requested payment based on your choice. Let’s say there is a $100 charge and you want to charge 4% to cover all your processing fees, the customer will be charged $104.00. You will then get the $100 deposited into your bank account.

What if I don’t want my customers to pay a fee?

That’s totally fine. You have the option to not charge a fee. You can include the processing cost in your pricing to the customer and they will not see a fee being charged.

Note: The Pool-E 1% application fee and any merchant processing fees will still be collected from the transaction.

What are Merchant Processing Fees?

Financial institutions charge a small fee on every credit card and debit card transaction to cover the cost of processing the payments quickly and securely.

Who is Stripe and why do I need an account with them?

Pool-E has partnered with Stripe, the leading merchant processor for businesses. Stripe processes credit card payments for, Google, Microsoft, Uber, Square, Netflix and millions of other businesses.

Stripe is responsible for securely storing the credit card information, getting the payments from the credit cards, and depositing the money into your bank account.

You will be prompted to sign-up for a Stripe account when you login to Pool-E. The typical sign-up process takes less than 3 minutes. You only need some basic information about your business and the deposit information for your bank account.

How much are Merchant Processing Fees?

Merchant processing fees are based on credit card processing volume. The larger the dollar volume you process with credit cards, the better your rate becomes. If you are a new business with little or no credit card processing history, you can expect to pay around 2.9% + $0.30 per credit card transaction. For example: On a $100 credit card charge, Stripe would collect $3.20 to process the card and would deposit, $96.80 in your bank account.

If you already have verifiable statements with credit card processing volume, it is much easier to negotiate even better rates.

Do I have to keep up with credit card numbers?

Neither you nor Pool-E has access to a customers credit card number. All credit card information resides with Stripe. A customer’s credit card information is never stored, nor even touches Pool-E. This is by design and is part of our compliance to make sure customer financial information is safe.

How do I cancel my account?

There’s no monthly subscription, so you can just stop using Pool-E. There is an option in Settings to make your account inactive. This will prevent any further processing from happening around your account.

I already have a merchant processor. Can I use it with Pool-E?

At this time, we have no intention of integrating any other processors into the Pool-E platform. We’ve evaluated many of the top providers and have found them to be lacking in the levels of integration and reliability that we demand to provide our customers with the best possible experience.
